Who Do You Have In Your Boat?

Who Do You Have In Your Boat?

Hi one, hi all! Glad to be back….
PS: If at any time you feel like you don't know what to write or say, go to the greatest book of all time (your Bible, obviously) really guys, it's all in there! Speaking of books, I am currently reading 'The Mingling of Souls' by Matt Chandler so yeah you should definitely check it out, can't wait to write a post about Purity and God's plan for Marriage ;)

In my last post I spoke about acknowledging God's power over our lives, literally giving the reigns over to him because He is the one with control and not us (definitely check that out if you haven't already right here) and I feel God wants me to extend on that in a whole different way so please bear with me.

I was reading my Bible when I came across a fairly well-known story - the story of Jesus calming the storm when he and his disciples went to sea (go on over and read if you don't know it yet; Mathew 8:23-27). This time I was inspired to look at it in a different way and I was completely in awe when I discovered what I will be sharing with you in just a minute. Again in
    Mark 4:35-41New International Version (NIV)

35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

Don't you just find it super cool the way Jesus just woke up from his sleep like "you guys are never gonna let a man get a wink of sleep hey" and then just went out and rebuked the winds and sea like "ya'll gotta chill a lil man" haha) and suddenly there was a great calm I mean hello WASN'T THAT JUST AMAZING, GUYS? LIKE HE LITERALLY JUST SPOKE TO THE ELEMENTS AND THEY OBEYED!
Why did the winds and sea obey Jesus? Because he had created the storm, God is the maker of heaven and earth and everything within it after all. Now let me ask you this: What is that storm that is causing havoc in your life before God? What makes you think it can disobey God's command? Lastly, who are you to question God's ability to bring absolute calm in your life?

Many people have it all wrong; they seem to be convinced that once they become born-again they will no longer face troubles and I tell you now, this is a lie of the devil to confuse God's people.

These words are meant to comfort us; this is God telling you that, "hey, I am telling you now that trials and storms await you, but do not be sad, have no fear, I have overcome this world" so what makes you think that even after he says this to you, your problems are too big for him? Haibo. I know that things may look bad right now and I'm sure you've heard this before but, brethren trust in God. You will find the peace he speaks of and be of good cheer.

I hope this message has been a blessing to you as much as it has, me; please let me know in the comments. Signing off now.
