A BIG THANK YOU FOR POPPING IN!
The Proverbs 31 Journey
This blog strives to empower young
women AND MEN out there who have made a conscious decision to leave the world
and make way for God to mould them into the virtuous people He wants us all to
be. Issues we face on a daily will be confronted and humour too, will be
served. Let's have fun!
Guess what? You're not in control!
WOW! What an amazing (and busy) week this is turning
out to be! Well, before I delve into all the juicy nitty-gritty of what has
been going on in my head the past day or so I would like to say a BIG FAT
'THANK YOU' to everyone who took their time to check out my blog, you guys are
fantastic!
I was just doing some stuff on my mobile phone when all
of a sudden it just slipped out of my hand and fell to the floor; no
damage was done because my phone stays wrapped in a convenient rubber case but
that's not my point here, stay with me. Now I cannot tell you how that came to
happen and neither can I tell you how many times this has happened before
(countless) but it got me thinking: There are so many times in our daily lives
that we think or rather, like to think that we have got control over things,
situations etc. probably because everything is moving so smoothly so we
feel confident in our own capabilities. That is until something not too
favourable happens abruptly to us and then we wonder, where did I go wrong?
where did all that control I thought I had go to? It seems as if you have lost
absolute charge of that particular aspect of your life. As a result of this you
go into emotional (maybe physical, even) turmoil for days, weeks (months even)
...such a long time you begin to wonder if you'll ever exit all the heartache.
BUT you do. And that is why I love the scripture that says, "Weeping may
endure for the night, but JOY comes with the morning" (Psalm 30:5)! I love
this scripture so much because it reminds me that look it doesn't matter how
hard the times are at the moment, neither does it matter how long they last
because there is always that sweet, warm, fuzzy, overwhelming joy to look
forward to at the end of the storm.
Now remember here that this unspeakable joy is not brought about by our own
devices but God's alone. He is your provider, comforter, healer regardless of
what you may go through; and this, He wants us to remember. He wants us to
always bare in mind that He is that rubber case that will come to your rescue
should you fall. He doesn't want you to forget that He cares so, so deeply for
you; remember he said he knew you even before you were formed in your mother's
womb , he loved you. Still does, always will. With this in mind I would like to
clarify that self-confidence is a good thing but being overly confident in
oneself may be fatal because we do not even have a quarter of the power God has
so we can never be superior to him. That is why it is very, very important that
we step back and give God credit for our successes because they had
nothing to do with what we are capable of, but God's spirit alone. Don't be
bashful, don't be prideful. Just allow God to be God over your life and place
all your burdens and sorrows in his hands because only he can calm the storm.
You do not have control, God does. And the sooner you acknowledge this fact the
sooner you can start being a free creature who does not let worries get in
their way because they are all in the hands of the Maker himself.
God Bless**
