Man, 20, rapes 5-year-old girl to death

The accused is said to be in custody of the Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department, Yenagoa, pending the outcome of the investigations.

A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Bayelsa for allegedly raping a 5-year-old girl to death in Akedei Community, a riverine suburb in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state.

The Bayelsa Police Command spokesman,  Mr Asinim Butswat, disclosed this to newsmen on Friday, August 12, in Yenagoa, the state capital.

“The suspect was arrested on August 9, while the corpse of the little girl has been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa, for autopsy," Butswat said.

The accused is said to be in custody of the Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department, Yenagoa, pending the outcome of the investigations.
